2020-2021 Fundraiser Goals & Breakdown

$100K Fundraiser Q&A
Q: Are the items in the 100K request what the school absolutely needs or what the school wishes?
A: Any requests from parents or ICAG will always be acknowledged as NEED-BASED items, which are required to 1) fulfill State requirements for testing, data tracking and reporting, and to 2) fulfill Charter Agreement academic mission requirements.
Q: What will be the impact on the students' education if we cannot meet the 100K goal?
A: The Board and our ICAG leadership are making every effort possible to both seek any and all relief funding and raise as much money toward our $100K goal as possible to avoid having to reduce faculty and staff and/or combine some classes, etc.
Q: Will the school be cutting any programs from the curriculum to cover this 100K shortfall?
A: We have already reduced some programs such as the Chinese program since we were unable to find a qualified Chinese instructor. The savings is only reflected in the staff reduction and has already been accounted for as not part of the request. We do not have further wiggle room to reduce programs due to State requirements and our Charter Agreement.
Q: Will the school be forced to close permanently if we cannot meet the 100K goal?
A: No. We can show a deficit now. However, as a state charter school, the Board is working to establish and maintain a 6-month cash reserve on hand. Currently, our cash reserve remains approximately 3.5-month worth of operating cash. We are hopeful that, with the money ICAG can raise (the 100K), our objective to continue to add to our reserves ("rainy day funds") will be met.
